That’s what this past weekend is – history. I can’t believe how fast two days can fly by. This weekend we had company -my sister-in-law and brother-in-law came up from Jacksonville for the weekend.
My brother-in-law is a brilliant (self-employed) general contractor and we want him to finish our basement for us this year. It was fun watching him take measurements, make notes and sketches, listen thoughtfully to our ideas, and offer suggestions and alternatives. As soon as he can begin construction, I’m going to photo chronicle the project from start to finish. It should be exciting to see the entire process.
Before they left yesterday, we were given some homework assignments – we need to gather quotes on roll-away dumpster service, have the gas company come out and run a gas line for the basement fireplace, contact a drywall company for a quote on drywall finishing, and get all our purchases made – lighting, fireplace, french doors and bathroom fixtures (tub/shower, toilet, sink, lighting, hardware, etc). We’re not exactly sure when he’ll be able to start construction for us – as it all depends on his work load in Jax – could be next week or it may even be as late as summer or fall.
It’s all so very exciting to me, and I can’t wait for demolition day 1!
