Finally, our first grandson is born!!!! After four girls one does crave a good dose of testosterone!
Glenn Douglas Burton Docherty was born this morning at 6:40 a.m. CST, and he weighed in at 9 pounds 12 ounces. Both mother and son are doing well.
The kids had planned on a home birth as they tend to take the natural approach to medicine. Rene stated that the labor progressed very quickly – at just under three hours from start to finish and wee Glenn was born sideways, but without any problems whatsoever. The midwife has been in to check on everyone, and it seems that she’s given her stamp of approval, and now the kids just have to take the wee man up to their pediatrician’s office to register the birth. Praise the Lord for his care and protection.

Hehehe no he wasn’t really born sideways (owch!). Rene was just being weird when he said that. It’s his sarcastic way of trying to say that baby is big but I took it in my stride, he just talks obscurely. Now I understand why you guys seemed so worried! heheI’m about to post a long and detailed birth story on my blog later today. It all really did go perfectly. He’s such a little gem.
