I’m cooking for my family! Yippie!!
I haven’t remembered to take any photos this week, but I’ve been having a blast cooking for my family. My brother has been out for dinner, I’ve been taking food over to my grandparents, and my Mom and Dad and I have been eating dinner together like a regular family.
So far we’ve had Italian baked chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade biscuits, turtle brownies, chimichangas, spanish rice, refried beans, fresh peach crisp, and a few other odds and ends. Tonight’s dinner is going to consist of baked pasta, TVP meatless meatballs, garlic bread, tossed salad, and either strawberry pie or chocolate cake – I haven’t decided yet on the dessert. Truly, if you walk away from my dinner table hungry, it’s your own fault!
One of my favorite things to do is cook for my family – just ask any of them and they’ll tell ya it’s true! For me, cooking is the way I express my care, concern, and love. There’s nothing that brings me more pleasure and enjoyment than to spend time in the kitchen creating new dishes and tweaking old family favorites, and then to watch my family feast on the bounty. For me, that’s the main way I express my love for them.
I know, I know, it’s all very domestic. What can I say?!
